Recently, singer Ani DiFranco found herself in the middle of a controversy after she had scheduled a songwriting retreat at the Nottoway Plantation near New Orleans. Many were outraged claiming that the choice of venue was in poor taste because of the human suffering of former slaves associated with the place. DiFranco, would eventually go on to cancel the event and even issued an apology, but not before many of her fans defended the venue.

The whole incident was dubbed by many to be yet another example of "whitesplaining." But what does the term mean? Blogger Feminista Jones joins The Morning Show to explain and to talk more on the practice.
