President Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will each participate in a "Meet the Candidate" event with Univision this week.
Romney will participate Sept. 19 and Obama's event will take place on Sept. 20. Each event will be moderated by Univision network news anchors Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas and be conducted before a live audience at the University of Miami's BankUnited Center Field House.
“Hispanics will play a key role in electing the next President of the United States and these events will help address key issues so that the more than 20 million Hispanics expected to vote this year can make an informed decision,” Cesar Conde, president of Univision Networks said in a statement.
The candidates announced they would participate in the events with Univision after Ramos knocked the Commission on Presidential Debates for not choosing a Latino journalist to moderate one of the three official debates.
