Alleged Daughter of Mexican Cartel King El Chapo Arrested Crossing the Border

Alejandrina Giselle Guzman Salazar was arrested on Friday October 13th as she intended to enter the United States at the San Isidro crossing near San Diego using false papers. When she was questioned by U.S Customs and Border Protection agents she allegedly identified herself as the daughter of Mexico's most wanted drug lord, Chapo Guzman.

Guzman Salazar, who is pregnant, was supposedly intending to enter the country to give birth.

Her lawyer, prominent San Diego lawyer Jan Ronis, who previously represented another Mexican drug lord Benjamin Arellano Flores, says he can't confirm reports that she's Chapo Guzman's daughter. "She violated the law and that should be resolved," said Ronis from his San Diego office to Univision, "but in regards to who she is alleged to be related to she should stand on her own."

Guzman Salazar is in a San Diego detention center awaiting a bail hearing on October 25th.
