Sunday will mark the grim, four-year anniversary of the start of the civil war in Syria. There’s no end in sight, as forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad continue to battle Western-backed rebel groups and extremist groups like the Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL).
