At Sunday’s second presidential debate, Donald Trump was confronted, once again, with his disastrous entanglement with the Khan family, whose blistering criticism of him during the Democratic National Convention kicked off one of the most infamous and offensive stretches of his campaign.

During a particularly heated exchange with Hillary Clinton, Trump claimed that, had he been President, Humayan Kahn—a Muslim-American soldier killed while serving in Iraq–would still be alive today.

Almost immediately after the debate had concluded, the Khans responded.

It’s unclear if Donald Trump is will attack the same family twice in the same election. For now, when it comes to Trump’s truthfulness and his sense of duty, the Khans have had the last word.
