This star NFL wide receiver sat during the national anthem to protest Donald Trump

Donald Trump is the President-elect of the United States of America. That doesn’t sit well with Tampa Bay Buccaneers star player Mike Evans—so Evans decided on Sunday not to stand for the national anthem as a protest against Trump’s victory.

“I’m not a political person that much, but I have common sense,” Evans told reporters on Sunday, after clarifying his protest had nothing to do with veterans or the military. “And I know when something’s not right.”

He acknowledged Colin Kaepernick’s ongoing anthem protest, but said he was protesting for a different reason.

“A reality star can be the president, that’s not a good look for America, I think,” Evans went on. “Because of who he is. It’s not about the Republican party or Democratic party or anything like that. It’s just who he is, and it’s well documented what he’s done, and I’m not gonna stand for somebody I don’t believe in.”

Despite Evans taking the time to carefully explain that he wasn’t protesting the military, one person still burnt his Evans jersey because he believed Evans was disrespecting the military. So it goes.
