As if this entire human centipede of an election cycle could not have been any more outrageous, Kanye West showed up at Trump Tower this morning and had a little 15-minute meeting about god knows what with President-elect Donald Trump. Imagine what two men whose deepest fears appear to be not being talked about could possibly be up to.
After the meeting, Hollywood’s latest power couple (white power couple?) posed for the most awkwardly intense and deeply unsettling photo session, during which Trump remarked, “We’ve been friends for a long time.” When asked what they had discussed, Trump abrasively said, “Life,” as Kanye stood silently with his arms crossed.
Other reporters asked West for a comment regarding his oft-threatened 2020 election bid, to which the rapper responded with a terrifyingly blank stare. When pressed for further comment, he simply said, “I just wanted to take a picture right now,” smiling. The whole thing looked like a deranged Make A Wish Foundation encounter.
We don’t know what the two men, who probably share a deep unspoken bond over being megalomaniacal dicks, discussed, but topics could have ranged from West potentially performing at the inauguration to Andrea Bocelli potentially performing at the inauguration, to what directive Kris Jenner has given them because who else could be behind this?
You may remember that just last month West admitted, in one of his signature rants on a Life Of Pablo Tour stop, that even though he did not vote (remember when Trump bragged that the black people who didn’t vote at all were just as good as the ones who voted for him?), he would have voted for Trump, which did not go over well with his audience. Not even a week later, he was hospitalized for exhaustion and sleep deprivation. Meeting with Trump was his third public appearance since his hospitalization.
It’s clear that Kanye needs major support and a major ego boost, but helping normalize Trump is just actively destructive all around. It should be noted there is a big ol’ supermoon Gemini meteor shower going down tonight, and both Trump and West are Geminis, which could explain some things. I just hope Kanye gets some damn help.
Update: According to E!, America’s trusted political news source, a source close to West stated that Trump and West met to discuss a potential role in the impending regime.
Another update: Kanye took to Twitter for the first time since late October to explain his appearance at Trump Tower this morning.
Multicultural issues, or as Donald Trump likes to call them, “Life.” Oh, also: apparently his plan to run for president in 2020 has been tweaked a bit.
