Gay Jamaican lawyer forced into exile after paper publishes his wedding photos

Lawyer Maurice Tomlinson was forced to leave his home in Jamaica after a photo from his private wedding was published in a local newspaper. Tomlinson and his husband received numerous death threats and fled to Toronto where he now resides.

Fusion’s Jorge Ramos spoke to the HIV/AIDS activist about the ongoing homophobia in the Caribbean and if President Obama’s visit could help to shift the country’s current dialogue of intolerance.
