High School Football Stadiums in Texas are a Big Deal

High school football is worth massive costs for the people of Allen, Texas.

The Allen Eagles of Allen High School had perfect 16-0 record in 2013, and played their home games on a multi-million dollar field paid for and approved by the city taxpayers.

But that stadium has now been closed.

The Allen Eagles received a state of the art $60 million football stadium in 2012, only to have it closed in February 2014 for “extensive cracking” in the stadium’s concourse plaza.

The Allen Eagle’s stadium, with the capacity for 18,000 avid fans, is just one of many over the top high school stadiums in Texas. Watch the animated video above to see the correlation between median household incomes in Texas cities and the size of their hometown high school football stadium.
