Sonic vs. Super Mario: The Battle That Defined A Generation

You might be surprised to learn that the gaming industry is worth more than the television and film industry combined. For those of us who were children of the ’80s and ’90s, that industry boiled down to one fundamental question: Sega or Nintendo?

Fusion’s Alicia Menendez sat down with Blake J. Harris, author of “Console Wars: Nintendo, Sega and the Battle that Defined a Generation.” Harris revealed the details about the battle between the industry’s David and Goliath, how that battle forever changed pop culture, and why it matters today.

“Console Wars” is being adapted into a feature length film–a project led by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg–and will serve as “The Social Network” of gaming.
