This undocumented track athlete races to a future, not a finish line

According to Pew Research Center, there are about 200,000 to 225,000 undocumented immigrants enrolled in U.S. colleges.

19-year-old Jose Reza is one of them. He’s a first-year student athlete at Allen Community College in Iola, Kansas. Jose is using his passion for sports to race to a better future for him and his mother, a single parent.

“I want to break the stereotypes people have against Hispanics,” he said. “Running was the way of being here in college. And I’ll keep on doing it until I can’t no more. Until my knees give up on me.”
