Hikikomori: Japan's lost generation of digital age hermits

Young men and women in Japan are turning their backs to the outside world. They’re living in their bedrooms for months, or even years at a time—not having any contact with family or friends. This reclusive psychological and sociological phenomenon is known as “Hikikomori.” It is so prevalent, it’s estimated up to 2 million people are caught in its grip.

Catch the documentary Hikikomori premiering May 7th at 8:30 PM on Fusion TV.
